that is a surprise but it sounded like Towles and Barker were moving ahead of him in spring practice. good luck to Jalen

I suspect he was asked to change positions.
He’ll probably end up at Troy or Valdosta . . ala Dusty Baker.

Could have ( red-shirted ) beefed him up to 235 and made him a heck of a pass catching tight end or slot.

I wonder if he will change his mind, after he thinks about it for awhile. I wish him luck, but the switch worked for Mr Cobb, maybe it would work for Mr Whitlow?

Tough loss but clearly QB was a position he was not going to win and the coaches were honest with him. I wish him well and hope he changes his mind. He has all the skills needed for WR/Wildcat. Worked out great for Cobb :)

I respect his decision but I think it will turn out to be a poor choice. These kind of choices are usually poor ones in the long run. How many QB’s do you see at the next level who were transfers after being beaten out in practice? I’m not saying it never happens, none come to mind. Best of luck to him. We could have used his ability…

Mr. Whitlow, do not make a rash decision regarding the position change. You are still an outstanding athlete and can make a tremendous contribution both to the team and for yourself by remaining at Kentucky. Try to work something out that benefits all, Kentucky is a good place to be. Best to ya!

Jalen was not and would not get beat out by any QB at UK. That move to move Jalen was purely political.
