LEXINGTON, Ky. – Already boasting the No. 1 rated recruiting class following the fall signing period, the Kentucky men’s basketball team added to its arsenal with three additional signees in the spring signing window, which closed on Wednesday. Jemarl Baker, Kevin Knox and Jarred Vanderbilt signed national letters of intent to suit up for the Wildcats in 2017-18.

The 11-point, 98-87, win for the USA Junior National Select Team over the World Select Team in the 20th annual Nike Hoop Summit on Friday night at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, was closer than the final score indicated. In fact, with 2:43 remaining in the game the USA led by just four points.

Jarred Vanderbilt has so many Division I scholarship offers that his father, Robert, says he is not even sure what the total is.

“There is a whole bunch of them from A to Z. They’ve all made offers. I would say the number is unlimited,” Robert Vanderbilt said.

The 6-9 forward from Houston is one of the top players in the 2017 recruiting class. He made an unofficial visit to UK in December and played four times in the Bluegrass last year.

Kentucky is one of the schools pursuing 6-9 junior Jarred Vanderbilt of  Houston, who was in Indianapolis over the weekend with many of the nation’s best players for the Nike EYBL.

“He’s going to be really special at the next level,” Victory Prep (Texas) coach Rodney McCray, a former Louisville and NBA star, said of his high school star.
