Sean Deveney of SportingNews.com had an interesting post speculating on how excited NBA scouts/coaches are about Kentucky’s draft prospects — for 2016.
“If things fall right, several scouts and front-office executives told Sporting News that UK should eclipse its own record of five first-round picks in one draft next year, set in 2010, with more than six players possessing first-round talent,” Deveney wrote.
That’s SIX first-round picks in 2015 — Willie Cauley-Stein, Dakari Johnson, Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Marcus Lee, Alex Poythress, Karl Towns Jr. and Trey Lyles are all possible candidates.
One NBA general manager even told Deveney that if a team could draft UK’s team, it would have a great start toward a “pretty good” NBA team in two or three years.
Deveney added: “Kentucky has three centers and three power forwards with NBA potential, plus the Harrisons on the perimeter.”
That’s why not only are UK fans already excited for the 2014-15 season, but NBA scouts are just as excited for the 2015 draft.
