More updates on Kentucky safety Ashley Lowery

For those asking, here’s some more information I have found about the accident involving Kentucky safety Ashley Lowery:

From WTVQ: UK safety Ashely Lowery, suffering undisclosed injuries after a car crash at 4 am this morning in his home state of Georgia. According to the Georgia State Police, Lowery was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima when the vehicle left the roadway, overturning several times.  He was not wearing a seatbelt, ejected from the vehicle, and came to rest approximately 100 feet from the final rest of the vehicle.  He was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA with serious injuries.  No other vehicles were involved and Lowery was the only person in the vehicle.

Alex Otte @jetskigirl1996: All I know at this point is that’s there’s no brain damage but we don’t know the severity of his neck injury. Single vehicle crash, the car flipped and he was thrown over 100 feet out.

Todd McGinnis @toddnky: Check @DougStutsman twitter he is a close friend and has a pic and some comments on his feed.

Report: Kentucky player awake and responsive after car crash

“The Courier-Journal reported Sunday that Kentucky safety Ashely Lowery is awake and responsive following a serious car crash in Georgia on Saturday morning.

Lowery was ejected from his seat after rolling his car and had been under sedation in intensive care at Northeast Georgia Medical Center since the accident, according to the report.

The sophomore from Cleveland, Ga., is now able to move all his extremities, and a breathing tube has been removed, the Courier-Journal reported.”

May the Lord Jesus, the Great Physician, intercede and grant a full recovery to Ashely.

I know someone who played High School football with Ashely, who has been following his time at UK, and anticipating a great future for him.

Lowery had 43 tackles and an interception for the Wildcats in 2012.”

I know one of Ashley’s former teammates in High School, who is anticipating a great career at UK for Ashley.

May the Lord Jesus, the Great Physician, continue to recover Ashley fully, with no serious longterm issues. So thankful he survived landing 100′ from the car, however it may have happened.
