Media member claims John Calipari knew the Lakers had “zero interest” in him

By LARRY VAUGHT

Surely it won’t be much longer for the John Calipari-Los Angeles Lakers rumors/stories finally go away.

Calipari has said he has no interest in the job that came open when Mike D’Antoni was fired and then Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News announced that one name can be crossed off the list because the Lakers have no interest in Calipari. Here is what Lawrence posted:

“John Calipari has no shot to get the job, just as he didn’t when Rex Chapman tweeted that Calipari was on his way to Laker-land with a ‘done deal’ as Kentucky hit the court for the NCAA championship game against UConn. Calipari knows the Lakers have zero interest in him and that’s why he tweeted on Friday that he is not leaving the Wildcats.”

So even when he’s being ruled out as a candidate, Calipari still has shots being taken at him by a national media member who basically said Calipari was being less than honest by saying he had no interest in the LA job.

Typical media BS, excluding you Larry Vaught. Thank the Lord for Larry Vaught who keeps BBN informed on such important issues as this stupid rumor, and things written about it by people like Lawrence. I can’t believe Chapman either, and others can say what they want to about him! He is starting to be annoying to much going on in BBN basketball if you ask me. This was just meant to be a distracting ploy by some media members, and others, to slow down a busy Coach, and keep him explaining nothing but a bunch of nonsense. I believe the Coach until proven otherwise.

Rex, time to ” Out ” that source he made you look bad… Done Deal !

Rex has been off the reservation a long time IMO. He acted like he was still a blue blood during the game when they had announcers from the individual teams do the play by play. But this isn’t the first time he’s been at odds with UK fans and the program.

” Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News announced that one name can be crossed off the list because the Lakers have no interest in Calipari”,–thanks for the laugh Lawrence!

Woke up to find a story actually mentioning both Roy Williams and K as possible Laker coaches. Wow, there’s a first time for everything. I don’t remember the media saddling either with the ole ” don’t trust him, he’s leaving” brand. It’s generally only UK coaches that get that tag. Where did Chapman get his info? How many of these rumors have we endured about UK coaches? You just know ESPN and CBS just love putting a bug in the ear of recruits. Now the shoe is one some other feet for a change.

Some new york ass hole that nos nothing at all about what goes on in bbn. Journalists such as this guy should not be allowed to have a place in journalism.
