Madison Southern running back Damien Harris heads expected Junior Day visitors

uk football helmetBy LARRY VAUGHT

Five-star running back Damien Harris of Madison Southern, a recent Michigan de-commit and considered the nation’s top junior running back, highlights recruits scheduled to be at Kentucky Saturday.

Current UK commit Montrell Custis of Georgia will be there as will four-star linebacker Eli Brown of Bowling Green, a priority in-state target for UK.

Once again, Ohio players dominate the recruits visiting. Those scheduled to attend include four-star offensive lineman Georg Brown; four-star linebacker Nick Conner; three-star offensive linemen George Asafo-Adjei, Noah Listerman and Rob Dowdy; three-star linebackers C.J. Stalker, Anthony McKee and David Long; three-star cornerback Kei Beckha; and three star defensive tackle Elijah Taylor.

Others known to be planning on attending — providing weather doesn’t change that — are four-star cornerback Marcus Lewis and three-star receiver Jabari Greenwood of Washington, D.C., four-star defensive lineman Darius Fullwood of Maryland (a teammate of 2014 signee Kobie Walker), and three-star receivers Tavin Richardson of South Carolina and Dexter Neal of Georgia.

Two quarterbacks — junior Reese Ryan of Lexington Catholic and sophomore Messiah deWeaver of Ohio — are scheduled to visit along with these in-state players: tackle Mason Wolfe of Henderson, linebacker Ramone Kelly of Louisville, receiver Marcus Floyd of Lexington and running back Michael Nero of Louisville.

Would love for Harris and Brown give their commitment and get the ball rolling much like it did when another young man did for us last year and really kicked off our recruiting

Step up and be the man. Why not!

This sounds like a strong list of players. Harris is a great back who sure would be loved by the BBN. Come on board and help the CATS! You can be a legend.

Damien, I hope you get to read this. I live in Irvine so next year, I absolutely have come see you, a future football Hall of Famer, up close and in person. OK, yes, I said it but I really do believe also. I got to see some video of you on Youtube a week ago and I can see why you are one of the top players and the #1 RB in the nation, TOTALLY IMPRESSIVE. Please try to understand though. With your skill level and atheleticsm and as long as you keep your head on straight, continue to work your butt off, on the field and in the classroom, you could play football at Southwest Central Po-dunk Mississippi Valley Tech State and still be a 1st round NFL draft pick 4 years from now. I understand that there are some BIG name schools recruiting you and I know it would be hard to tell them no but believe me when I say this. If you were to join the BBN with the other talented players coming into the program, you would become a LEGEND in the state. Yes, I really do believe that also. So, I wish you the best with whomever you choose but I’ll hope and I’ll pray that it’s Kentucky blue.

“Stoops & Staff” are becoming the “Calipari & Staff” of football.
    Relentless, high class recruiting!
Great job by this freshly assembled staff… all this progress in just over a year!!!

I’m not even going to say what Stoops & Brown need to do this year to insure the recruiting continues to steamroll, picking up speed & high ranked recruits. Some may have already seen a post of mine suggesting it :)

GO BIG BLUE … on the Grid Iron and in Rupp!

Here we go again…shades of the Elam type battle looming for Big Blue. I hope he stays in the Bluegrass. He is a tremendously skilled football player.
