  • Nice job LV…there are many reason for you to be Honored ! But, I for one feel I’m honored to be able to read your insight and candid conversations…Thank You, on behalf of BBN.

    • larryvaught says:

thanks larry’s for the kind words. Overwhelming company tonight. Admire Tom Hammond so much and then to be on the same podium with Dick Enberg, Jim Host, Ted Bassett and Louis Stout’s widow — and Tom Leach — is very humbling

  • Larry Pup says:

Congrats Larry V. Well deserved. Thanks for your good work in keeping BBN informed.

  • A well deserved honor Larry and I echo Larry Pup’s comment in “keeping BBN informed.”

    • larryvaught says:

Thanks to all of you for the kind words. Really was a nice, nice honor and very special night. So proud to be included with Enberg, Bassett, Stout and Davis

  • Judi Cole says:

Couldn’t happen to a nicer person and one who is a superb sports writer – Congratulatons, Larry!

  • Leslie Kehr says:

Congrats Larry! Well-deserved. A great writer, and even better human being!

  • P90XDude says:

  • bryan mceuen says:

Who’s gonna fill there shoe’s ? Great group that brought sports entainerment to the radio and television and now internet. Dick Enberg is one of best annoucers that did the job.

  • Gene says:

Congratulations Larry on this well deserved honor.
I read both of the major newspapers in the area and I know the sports departments in each contain good friends of yours but, in truth, you stand far above anyone in either Louisville or lexington when it comes to what you do so well——–informing and entertaining.
    Good job !!

    • Love SEC F-Ball says:

I know I should not piggy-back on a congratulatory note but Gene & Juan4UK both said it so well!
      Congratulations old friend!

  • Juan4UK says:

Congratulations Larry! Well deserved, and as always: Thanks for including your readers in your job description. I have no doubt that that is the reason you are thought of so highly.
Yours is a unique approach in the way you do it, and the balance you strike with your reporting. Thanks again, and well deserved.

  • Juan4UK says:

I sure would love to see the web stats for the Kentucky Writers. I think we all know that KSR leads the pack, Larry and John Clay are probably next. But I would really love to see how far Tipton has fallen now that (with the internet) people have a choice in what they read and how it’s presented. #BBN no longer has to be force fed the continual negative slanted stream of reporting coming from that lunatic curmudgeon.

  • MILL8J says:

Congrats Larry very well deserved. You have always been fair and honest in your reporting. Call em like you see em

  • Hugh Ward says:

Larry – I have long been a fan, and congratulate you on the exceptional job you do keeping us informed. My occupation kept me moving around the country, and I have read/seen/heard many sports “jounalists”??? Your work is among the best (if not the best) I have seen in providing interesting news and details. Years ago, I worked at a county newspaper, and remember the editor told me “Anyone can give scores and list statistics, what you need to strive for is giving the human side of the game, and addiing the scores and statistics.” You certainly do that!

  • Lori Metcalf says:

Congrats, Larry! Glad others see in your work what were here at VV all know. Thanks for all the great stories you bring us that we don’t see anywhere else.

  • UKFMLY says:

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! ! !

    GO BLUE OR STAY HOME

  • UKFAN197TONE says:

Congratulations Larry. I posted this on my Facebook page and found you a few more readers. :)

  • Nick Nicholas says:

Congrats Larry! An honor well deserving of all the hard work you put in. But it’s the kind of work I know you enjoy, which makes it all worth while.

  • Derek Abney says:

Big kudos, Larry. You look great in that suit.

  • Gary Dearborn says:

A well deserved reward for one of the good guys in the business!!

  • Jim Porter says:

Congratulations, Larry, on your most recent sports media award. Not only are you an
excellent writer but an even better human being. UK fans here in southwestern Ohio
appreciate your participation and support of our annual UK Convention.

    • larryvaught says:

Thanks Jim Porter. Would not miss this convention. Already making plans to be there in mid-July and sure hoping UK offensive coordinator Neal Brown will be joining us also

  • Karen Sprinkle says:

Congratulations, Larry. This is a very well-deserved honor for a man who leads the way in great journalism, not just here in Kentucky but nationwide, IMO.

  • Dale Castle says:

Congratulations on this honor which you so richly deserve! We already knew what a fine job you do, what a fair and honest reporter you are, what a great site you host here, and now the world will know :) You get the human interest stories we love, the hidden gems others overlook. Thank you for being here for us, and know we are very proud of you.

  • LindaS says:

Very well deserved, Mr. Vaught. we all love ya and the site. The BBN is much better informed with you in the Captain’s Seat. Thank you for all your hard work and keeping us informed. I still tell everyone about this site and give them the website. I don’t know if they ever visit, but I let everyone know. This website has been a very big part of my life in the past few years. I probably need to get a life, between April and Oct each year at least. Please keep up the good work and remember all us little people when you start making the big bucks! LOL
