Center Stephen Zimmerman of Las Vegas is one of several top players — Jaylen Brown, Carlton Bragg, Brandon Ingram — who will make visits to Kansas and Kentucky at the same time. He says it is just the “way it worked out” and not something the players talked about.
“It just happens to be the midnight madness stuff at both schools and that is usually the best time for recruits to visit and when coaches want players to see all the fun they have and when they want us to come,” Zimmerman said.
“It is still kind of like every man for himself, but at the end of the day you have friends and people you can trust and some players do package deals and stuff. You can make it fun to interact or just do what you want to do for yourself. Both work.”
Zimmerman and his parents have seen UK’s Big Blue Madness on TV and “have always wanted to go” to be part of the event.
“It looks pretty fun. I am not looking for anything in particular. I am just excited to be going there then,” Zimmerman said.
