Here is what Kentucky guard Julius Mays had to say Friday about this afternoon’s game at Arkansas:
On Archie Goodwin’s return to Arkansas: “I haven’t really asked him about it. I’m sure he’s excited to go play in his home state, but I haven’t really said anything to him.”
On Goodwin asking teammates for tickets: “Yeah, he got quite a few tickets. He’s got, I’m sure, a lot of people coming to this game since it is so close to his house.”
On the confidence UK’s guards gained in the last three games: “I think a lot. Everybody’s playing with a lot of confidence. We’re all going out and doing what we can do. Ryan’s been leading the team, playing how a point guard should play. Archie’s stepped it up. He had, those last couple games, a few big second halves. And I’ve been shooting the ball well. Jarrod’s been playing well. All our perimeter guys have been playing well. Really, everybody’s been playing with a lot of confidence. It’s making us come together.”
On what the guards must do at Arkansas: “I think we need to play really well. Obviously the ball’s going to be in our hands 90 percent of the game and they’re going to get up in us and be pressuring us the whole game and trying to get us to turn it over. So, really, it’s all in our hands. I don’t think there’s more pressure on us. Just go out there and do what we can do and just take care of the ball.”
On trying to beat a team that has lost only one home game this year: “It’s always going to be a game of runs. They’re going to go on their run. We’re going to go on our run. It’s just really about those last five minutes, who’s going to make the toughness plays, that really determines who comes out on top.”
On his status after needing four stitches from taking a blow to the face against Mississippi State: “It’s good. Better than last time. It’s not bothering me.”

Julius Mayes was WRONG!
Just wish Archie had a better game in front of his family and friends. There was a lot of pressure on him. He will bounce back!
Judi, I thought Archie played pretty well. But team sure didn’t
