It’s amazing the statistics one can find about page views on a blog. Consider this tidbit Word Press provided about this blog: It would take about 35 years for as many people to visit Liechtenstein based on the yearly average of tourists the country has to equal the number of views this blog had in 2012.

But get this — during 2012 we had visitors from 168 countries at vaughtsviews.com. Imagine that. We had UK fans in 168 countries reading the posts and comments here.

In 2012, there were 2,198 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 5,344 posts since we started less than four years ago.

Our busiest day was March 26 — and is that just a coincidence that is also my birthday? Or did UK’s win to get to the Final Four have something to do with that. The top post that day was a photo gallery of UK’s Elite Eight win over Baylor in Atlanta.

And what post got the most comments? It was “Having Bobby Petrino at top of UK search makes sense to Joe Hall and maybe to others as well.” Just shows the interest in football there really is in Kentucky.

Now I’ve saved the best for last. Guess who were the four most active commenters in 2012? First was LindaS with an incredible 602 comments. But not far behind was Larry T Clemons with 564. King Ghidora also went over 500 with 548 comments. And next came Grant with 504.

What a Fearsome Foursome of commenters we have and thanks to each of them for their contributions to vaughtsviews.com. But thanks to all of you as well. We had the most comments ever this year and hope to see that trend continue because we’ve always wanted this to be a fan-friendly site with comments, guest posts, photo galleries, etc.

Gary Moyers, Clay Jackson, Victoria Graff and Ashley Scoby all do an incredible with content here but this is always your site first. We want to provide information you want and give you the chance to discuss it in a civilized, friendly forum where there are no right or wrong opinions.

So as we start another year together, thanks for your continued support of our efforts to keep you informed about Kentucky athletics.

Larry, you provide a wonderfully informative place where people feel comfortable commenting and sharing their thoughts. Thanks for all you’ve done in 2012. Can’t wait to see all that happens in 2013.

  • Karen Sprinkle says:

Ditto to what Laura said. The beauty of Vaught’s Views is that, even when we disagree, we are for the most part respectful of each other’s opinions. You often have stories that we don’t see anywhere else that give you a sense of who these young men and young women are who represent UK and the Commonwealth. Great job, and I too am looking forward to 2013 and more great stories and opinions.

  • The totality of Post are a direct reflection of the quality of the Stories and comments…Happy New Year, and thank you to all, for your feedback and Wildcat support…

  • LindaS says:

I was #1? I have never been number one in my whole life! Did I win a prize? LOL I hope the comments weren’t without merit! I don’t know that much about sports, only what I feel in my heart. Livn’ Blue & Lovin’ It!

  • Jim Boyers says:

Here’s to many, many more years of excellent journalism and comments. May the growth of this site continue in the new year and beyond. There is no where else like this site. It feels like more than just a bunch of Big Blue fans. It feels like a family.

Thanks for all you do Larry.

    Happy New Year to all!!!!!!!

    • LindaS says:

Amen, Jim, well said. I like it because there is in intelligent comments here, not any of the illiterate comments like on some sites!

  • TheProfessor says:

Happy New Year to all my friends and Vaught’s Views. I echo the comment that the exchanges here are free of the ugliness that seems to dominate so many internet sites.

  • shinny says:

Thanks so much Larry for you and others that make this site so informative. Since I live some distance away in Georgia the site with it’s inside information keeps me feeling close to my hometown(Danville) and all the BBN. I really look forward to 2013 football, the inside info from Coach Brown and of course the “Air Raid Sirens”!!!!

  • Larry Pup says:

Larry V..thanks for the hard work. This is a great site. The best for all UK fans who choose to comment. With “Vaught’s Views” we are in the loop.

  • Freddie Maggard says:

Best in the business. Thanks for all you do Mr. Vaught. Keep going strong in 2013. I’d say many of the countries represented are from KYNG, you’ve always been gracious visiting our Soldiers. For them, I also say thank you sir.

    • larryvaught says:

Glad to do it Freddie. Those troops are so, so special. Looking forward to spending time with some of them at National Guard Border Bowl Jan. 12 in Williamsburg and hoping to do lot more stories on UK fans in the National Guard in 2013

  • Jan In Indiana says:

Vaught’s View’s the first site I go to for my Kentucky Wildcat information because I know if it is pertinent it will be covered here and be researched before it is reported.

  • Happy New Year to the most respectful fans on any Kentucky Sports Board.

  • Jared_S says:

Thanks Larry!! I don’t post much, but I follow all your work & been following for years. You always have great & accurate info..you are best, you work hard & do a wonderful job!!

  • Larry, appreciate all you have done for us and the way you have approached your reader base! The success of VV is a direct reflection of that!

  • TrueBlueJohn says:

This is the only site that I comment on, the reason being that the readers who comment here actually have something to say. The stories are pertinent and thoughtful leading to some great discussion. Other sites usually degenerate to name calling and slurs.

Keep up the good work, Larry.

  • UKFAN197TONE says:

I echo the previous comments. It’s Bigbluerules and VV for me. One can read ESPN or LHL, but usually by the 3rd comment, you’re ready to vomit.

  • Hugh Ward says:

I have mentioned to Larry several times that he is a lifeline for us UK fans far removed from Lexington. I now would like to extend that to include all of you who Post and provide insight to what is happening and what might happen. You all provide a great service (especially Linda!!!). I may not be able to be in Lexington, but I certainly get a tremendous amount of information from all of you. Thanks!!!

  • LindaS says:

I want my prize, what did I win? LOL

  • NostraDanis says:

    Larry,

I echo the comments above, your site is a part of my daily routine. And, I think Uncle Billy would be very proud.
