Larry, do you think that all the praise and rock star status that we give recruits before they get to campus is good or bad for them and the program

Here is my long answer. It depends on the players I guess. It did not seem to effect MKG, Davis, and that group. These players we have now were super prep players. They were highly recruited by many schools. If you listen to much of the chatter on this blog about them now after a less than stellar season, all the basketball experts nationwide who get paid to know talent would seem to be wrong I guess according to some experts on VV’s. I never liked the pre-season hype and the 40-0 talk. That killed this team from the start and put a big red “bulls eye” on them, and gave a lot of ammo to their opponents. I never ever thought they would go undefeated. I don’t even like a lot of talk before any game or season ever. Just go play hard and the may best team win. To answer your question, I think if they can back it up fine. But it is always better to stay humble as an athlete than to be cocky. In that regard, I never personally heard any of our current players talking the 40-0 talk, or telling the world how great they were. Others took care of that for them. That hurt them in my view.

Interesting that Florida doesn’t have a single signee off this list and U of L only has 1…. But it looks like Duke and Noth Carilina have joined the one and done parade. Will be interesting to see how the UK,Duke and NC fortunes pan out over the next 4 years compared to Florida and U of L

I hope these young uns come in with no expectations and just play ball. I’m ready for Ky BB to get back to playing ball the way its supposed to be played.
