Question: Do you continue to like what you see from the Kentucky offense?

Derek Abney: “I think the program and the system we have got is going to be top notch. I think we have a little time still to implement that. We have to get the right people in. I think we certainly are with the recruiting we are getting done. I think the coaches are great. I think it is going to take a little time, but it is going to happen with the coaches and players that we are getting. I think we are going to come around.”

Question: What does it mean to former players to see the renovation work being done at Commonwealth Stadium?

Derek Abney: “It is a commitment. It is a little different. I cam even through the airport and things a little different for me. But it is good to see a commitment. I know (UK athletics director) Mitch Barnhart has always had a commitment not only to UK football, but to UK sports as a whole. It is good to see it. The dorms are all nice now. We were just talking that we pretty much slept on towels. That’s what it feels like now. It is good to see the development of the school and program.”

Took way to long for it to happen. Glad that it is. Great for the kids, but can’t but help wonder where would we be if they would have threw this support and backing when Brooks took us to 3 Bowl games and won. We wouldn’t be starting ground zero with Stoops and reconstituting a whole new team that’s where. But I shall let by gones be by gones and not be sour over it anymore, well maybe just a little a tiny little

I am glad football is finally getting their fair share of improvements. It has been a long time in coming. I hope Abney is right about these coaches and this offense.
