Physical Vols worry Brooks
By LARRY VAUGHT
Rich Brooks had a warning for his Wildcats Sunday.
He knows the win at Georgia has Kentucky fans buzzing about a potential bowl trip to Florida — or at least Atlanta. However, he wants his team focused solely on Saturday’s game with Tennessee.
“I told them today they have worked very hard to get back on the deck and be in position to climb that SEC laddeer. We have one more major step to take,” Brooks said.
While Tennessee struggled early in the season under first-year coach Lane Kiffin, the Vols have steadily improved and gave both Florida and Alabama major scares before losing. Florida and Alabama remain 1-2 in the national rankings this week.
“They are a very talented, physical team. They are throwing the ball efficiently. They have a big physical offensive line and big physical running backs. They use misdirection in the passing game, something Georgia hurt us with.
“Their defense is well coached and they have great firepower in that defensive unit as well. The have one of the best defensive players in the nation in (cornerback Eric) Berry.”

I hope that the can’t lose MISS.ST game will have these kids focused on the task at hand..Beating a team that we haven’t beaten since all these kids Mommas and Pappas were their age..lol…If you want to go down as BIG BLUE Legands this week will do it..BEAT UT!!!!!!GO BIG BLUE!!!!!
The only motivation that Rich should have to give these guys comes in 2 simple words: IT’S TENNESSEE! No matter how “down” UT is, they are still UT. They will play with pride and intensity because they know that they can ruin some things for UK. Play a solid, motivated game and bring this one home!! GO BIG BLUE!!!!
No Matter win or lose i am proud of our football team they have done a very good job this year and i have faith they can over come the Vols and play the best game ever.
I am with you ronnie. I would love to see them win this game and end that Tennessee streak. I think every UK football fan is hoping for that

I saw the game in Knoxville in 1984 when Joker Phillips was part of the Ky team that last beat Tenn. I saw the game last year in Knoxville when Ky did not play good at all. I hope the 1984 team effort shows up Sat. GO CATS!!
I hope we finally get to see another win. I was there in 1984 as well and I think I have seen every UK-Tennessee game since then but one
One thing that help is that UT is down something like 4 LB’s. I think they will be starting their 4th string MLB. However, there is scuttlebut going around that one of the 3 players that were originally charged with armed robbery, Jenzen jackson, might play because his charges were dropped. He was the one who was either in the store or sitting in the car depending on which version you hear.
LOL..J.Jackson is UT best one on one defender on the out side THey can play man coverage if he is on the field..Eric barry has been more of a rover-free safty player this year under monty kiffen…I like it, If he didn’t have the pellet gun in his hand or drove the car, drop the charges..LOL..Oh well thats Kiffen’s problems…Strap’em up and Strap’em on GUYS and BEAT the VOLS!!! GO BIG BLUE!!!!
