Source indicates Cal’s recruiting is going fine

After the success he had in putting together the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class in such a short time last spring, it’s a bit of a surprise that Kentucky coach John Calipari has gone to mid-September without a 2010 commitment. However, that could be changing soon according to sources at Kentucky.
“Don’t worry about recruiting. It’s going great. Cal is right there with several big-name kids. I really think one, or maybe two, will publicly commit very, very soon. Cal is not worried at all about recruiting. He may not quite put together a class like last year, but it won’t be far off, either. Kentucky is well positioned with a lot of kids,” the source said.
Two big names are scheduled to make official visits to UK this weekend when the football Cats are hosting Louisville and will see the Big Blue spirit at its best in Commonwealth Stadium.
Florida point guard Brandon Knight, who could be the obvious replacement if current freshman sensation John Wall is at UK for only a year as expected, will be on campus. He’s been rumored to be a UK lean for weeks.
Also visiting will be talented Florida swingman Stacey Poole, a multi-talented player with plenty of college options. He’s destined to be a shooting guard, and certainly Kentucky could use another shooter for the 2010-11 season. But he could also play other perimeter positions in Calipari’s offense.
Poole has indicated he’s down to Clemson and South Carolina while Knight has Duke, Connecticut, Kansas and Miami still at the top of his list along with UK.
Another possibility for a commitment could be guard Doron Lamb of New York, who is attending Oak Hill Academy. Kyrie Irving, another point guard, of New Jersey is also rumored to be “totally” interested in Kentucky.
Then there is point guard Josh Selby, who de-committed from Tennessee. He’s had interest in UK and if he was to commit to Calipari, it would create an uproar in Big Orange country.
“There are a lot of kids very, very interested in Kentucky. As soon as one goes public, you are going to see others follow. Just wait and see,” the source said.

[...] It’s going to be fun to see how this all plays out, but two things are for sure: a UK scholarship offer means something and Calipari is not going to sit around waiting for a top target to commit. Oh yeah, and Larry Vaught says things are going well. [...]

please hurry an committ. Kentucky basketball is getting very interesting this year and in the near future.
No doubt about Cal. He doesn’t wait and isn’t afraid to be aggressive early.
Kentucky fans should never worry about scouting as long as John Calipari is here. He never stops recruiting.
I think you are right. Cal is always out and looking. Just look at how many top players have UK on their list.
coach cal has at least eight scholar ships to fill he will reload and be as strong as ever
