Kentucky coach John Calipari thinks taking his players to various satellite camps across the state is well worth the time it takes.

Calipari is taking players with him on the road to the camps for the first time in five years.

“To leave campus and do a couple of these, it’s time consuming but the best things I have done here were the national championship tour, satellite camp, book tour where instead of (fans) coming to Lexington we come to them,” said Calipari.

Calipari said UK officials picked various spots for the three-hour camps and most sold out in 10 minutes.

“After we finish doing this, it will probably be five years before I do it again,” he said. “But this whole summer experience is good for these kids to get to know one another.”

  1. Another way that Coach Cal shows that he wants what’s best for the players and fans. I’m sure they will enjoy the experience!
