Keldon Johnson kept insisting he was not sure whether he would commit to Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina State or Texas.
Many close to him believed the Oak Hill (Va.) guard had known for a long time that Kentucky would be his choice.
Saturday he confirmed that by picking Kentucky over the others and joining point guard Immanuel Quickley in UK’s 2018 recruiting class.
The 6-7 Johnson has a non-stop motor and can score from 3-point range or in a variety of other ways. He’s also a solid defensive player.
After losing R.J. Barrett, the top rated player in the 2018 recruiting class, to Duke on Friday, Calipari added a consensus top 15 player in Johnson.
(Oak Hill will play Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. CST against Hamilton Heights, Tenn., and then at 9:45 p.m. CST Dec. 3 against Tennessee Prep in the Marshall County Hoop Fest).
