No Conrad for Louisville for Cats

Kentucky’s offense will be missing at least one key player against Louisville Saturday.

Tight end C.J. Conrad — who leads UK with four touchdown catches — is out for Saturday as well as a bowl game because of an injury suffered in last week’s loss at Georgia.

“Unfortunately C.J. will be out for the remainder of the year. He has a mid-foot injury, a Lisfranc. Will require surgery tomorrow morning,” Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said Monday.

What makes it even tougher news is that backup tight ends Greg Hart and Justin Rigg are not healthy, either.

“Unfortunately, Justin got hurt in the game, too. He’s in a (ankle) boot. He has an ankle injury as well,” Stoops said.

“Greg is playing with a cast on one wrist for about two or three weeks, and then the last couple weeks the other wrist has been cast during practice. Hopefully he’ll be healthy this week.”

Would Stoops consider using guard Nick Haynes at tight end?

“No. We tried it just a little bit for field goal and a few certain things, but we’ll move him back inside,” Stoops said.

  1. To bad for CJ and his family . We will miss his blocking but probably not pass catching because Gran not smart enough to feature even though he talks the talk.

PK…LJ is going to carve us up like a TG Day turkey.
