Jacob Tamme has been part of three Super Bowl teams — Indianapolis, Denver and Atlanta — but once again the former University of Kentucky star is a free agent.
What are his plans for next year?
Tamme will join me at 9:45 a.m. when I host the Leach Report Tuesday. That’s one of several questions I will have for him.
He has made it clear he would like to stay in Atlanta with quarterback Matt Ryan but new San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan was Atlanta’s offensive coordinator last season. He might want Tamme to help tutor tight end Vance McDonald in the new offense with the 49ers.
Tamme, who will be 32 next month, was the Falcons’ leading receiver after the first three games of 2016 with 14 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. During a 33-32 victory over Green Bay on Oct. 30, he injured the AC joint in his right shoulder and needed season-ending surgery. He’ll actually be just finishing his rehab when he joins me on the Leach Report.
Also joining me at 9:25 will be Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader. We spent time together over the weekend at the Kentucky Lake Showcase watching UK signee PJ Washington play. Roberts has seen all the UK signees play but we will also talk football recruiting as he covers that beat extremely well, too.
The show will have a familiar first guest — Tom Leach. He will be in Columbia to call the UK-Missouri game Tuesday night and will break down the matchup for us as only he can do.
Again, I’m honored that Tom trusts me to host his show and that so many of you take the time to listen — and let me know.
