Matthew Mitchell congratulates Stoops early for signing day success

By LARRY VAUGHT

We are just a few hours from national football signing day and even Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell has found time to pay attention to what coach Mark Stoops and his staff are doing.

“We’re a day early (with my press conference) because of Signing Day and I just want to take a second to congratulate Coach Stoops on what a great job he’s done here at Kentucky. I know they’re going to sign a great class tomorrow and he’s just done a fantastic job,” Mitchell said.

“He’s a good friend and I’m really happy for him and his staff. So hope Signing Day turns out the way they want it to and I know it will. So we’re happy for Coach Stoops and the football team”

Mitchell, Stoops and every UK football fan would get a lot happier if the Cats flip Lexington Lafayette lineman Jedrick Wills from Alabama to Kentucky.

This is the latest tweet from Wills, who will sign his scholarship papers at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday:

“Be selfish in your life decisions❗️this for you and your family no one else, make you happy💯,” Wills tweeted.

So is that good news or bad news for Kentucky? Myself, I can’t tell.
