Matthew Mitchell still is not sure when Jessica Hardin will return to game action but the Kentucky coach says at least she was able to practice Tuesday, something she had not been able to do since suffering a concussion.
“Jess is making progress. Great news for Jess. Yesterday she got back into non-contact in practice and that is huge,” Mitchell said Wednesday going into Thursday night’s game with visiting Mississippi.
“For a while, she was not even attending practice because the movement bothered her. So, she looked really good yesterday, fresh. You know, she had good explosive quickness. So now, just continue to go through the non-contact piece.”
Hardin has yet to play in a SEC game after averaging 3.5 points and 13 minutes per game in UK’s first 13 games.
Mitchell said he would have another update on Friday but did not anticipate her playing tonight.
“I do not think she will play Thursday. I do not think Monday (at Missouri) is out of the question now. I think maybe we can see the light at the end of the tunnel now,” Mitchell said.
