Five-star Ohio athletie Lynn Bowdown confirmed what most anticipated Saturday when he gave his verbal commitment to Kentucky.
He’s ranked among the nation’s top five overall athletes by several recruiting services. He played quarterback in high school and rushed for 2,288 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2016 and threw for 1,319 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He had basically narrowed his list to UK, Penn State and West Virginia.
The 6-1, 185-pound could play slot receiver, running back or defensive back at UK. He had offers from Michigan State, Nebraska, Tennessee, Florida and Mississippi. He was also verbally committed to Indiana at one time.
He was impressed with UK recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow since he is from Youngstown where Bowden lives. Kentucky coach Mark Stoops is also from there.
