Just in case other teams didn’t know, Kentucky freshman Bam Adebayo had a warning for future opponents after UK routed Arkansas Saturday night.
The message — Don’t press De’Aaron Fox.
“They started pressing him and we were like, why would you press Fox? So, after that he just started shooting layups and you’re not going to tell him to stop,” Adebayo said. “We just started cheering him on and we said ‘Keep going.’
“We all just looked at each other and smiled. We might smile, then after that we tell Fox to just go. We just say go.”
Adebayo can’t understand why anyone would press Fox.
“He’s going to beat one, two guys. Then he just keeps going and it is all of us and only three guys on defense. When that happens, we score. So I would say don’t press him or if you do just be ready to get scored on,” Adebayo said.
Kentucky coach John Calipari said Fox was “ridiculous” against Arkansas.
“He’s been doing extra work. He’s been coming to practice early, not by choice, and he has really been working and it showed in the game. I said to the guys. What do you want to say to him? Do this every night, man. Play this way. This is who you are,'” Calipari said.
