Want some TaxSlayer Bowl talk to start your day on Wednesday? We are going to have it for you on WPBK (102.9 FM, wpbkfm.com) from 7:30-8 a.m.

Show host Tim Estes and myself will be joined first by former University of Kentucky offensive lineman David Hopewell and then by TaxSlayer Bowl committee member John Showalter, a former football player at Boyle County High School in Danville.

Hopewell will have plenty of statistical information on Kentucky’s bowl foe, Georgia Tech. He will be going to Jacksonville for the game.

Unlike many UK fans, Hopewell is not just satisfied with a 7-5 record and bowl bid. He wants to see the Cats compete for a SEC championship and continue to progress.

Showalter will be able to explain what has been going on with the team in Jacksonville so far this week as well as preview what will be going on the rest of the week.

Showalter expects a bit UK crowd at the game and did his best to sell committee members on the football following the Cats have.

I plan to ask him about everything from parking to a game weather forecast. If you have other questions for him or Hopewell, let me know.
