Florida DE Jordan Wright picks UK

By LARRY VAUGHT

Kentucky continues to reap the benefits of the win over Louisville and spot in the TaxSlayer Bowl as 6-6, 235-pound Jordan Wright of Fort Lauderdale announced his commitment to UK on Twitter today.

He’s ranked among the top 20 defensive ends in the south. He’s also a basketball standout that UK coach John Calipari even talked to earlier about the possibility of also playing basketball.

Wright has added about 20 pounds in the last year and had offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Tennessee, USC, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

He’s the 21st commitment in UK’s 2017 recruiting class that is ranked among the nation’s top 25 by several recruiting services.

  1. Absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful time to be a Wildcat football fan.

  2. The facts concerning this kid and whether he can play in the SEC should not be the question. The hidden fact is that this coaching staff has penetrated the recruiting market in South Florida, a major high school talent pool for Div. 1 players. Well done !
