LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball head coach John Calipari will be signing copies of his new book, “Success is the Only Option: The Art of Coaching Extreme Talent,” prior to Saturday’s UK-Austin Peay football game. Calipari will be available to sign books and take pictures at the Nutter Field House from 2:45-3:45 p.m. – after Saturday’s Cat Walk and before football Senior Day festivities.
The University of Kentucky Bookstore (Barnes & Noble) will have books available for purchase. Cash or credit cards will be accepted for payment.
“I want to thank Coach Mark Stoops and his staff for letting me come out and be a part of the final home game of the season,” UK men’s basketball head coach John Calipari said. “This is a big game for our football team as they try to become bowl eligible and finish out this season strong. I know the Big Blue Nation will be out in full force Saturday to support Coach Stoops and honor the seniors on Senior Day. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone after the Cat Walk as the Big Blue Nation heads in to Saturday’s game. Let’s show this team and these players the support they deserve.”
After the Cat Walk is over, fans wishing to meet Calipari and have a book signed should enter through the main entrance of the Nutter Field House, adjacent to gate 1. Calipari will only sign books and will be available for pictures as he signs.
Calipari’s latest book, the fifth of his career, was released Tuesday. In the book, Calipari shares the secrets of creating one of the premier programs in college basketball, revealing how he transforms a group of former high school superstars into selfless, cohesive teams, including a remarkable squad that fell just one game short of a perfect season in 2014-15.
Calipari is highly regarded for his ability to recruit the country’s top high school talent without making outlandish promises. Instead, he believes, “Commit to each other, be about each other without sacrificing your goals, and by doing this you can achieve all YOUR dreams and more.”
Here, for the first time in Success is the Only Option, he distills his team-building methods in ways that apply to CEOs, business owners, coaches, teachers and leaders of all kinds—lessons for anyone seeking to inspire talented individuals to reach for their best selves and contribute to a greater good.
An enlightening look at leadership, management, and team building, Success Is the Only Option offers the keys to winning, on and off the court.
