UK basketball posters ready for distribution

2016-17-mbb-poster_fox_monkLEXINGTON, Ky. – Posters for the 2016-17 Kentucky men’s and women’s basketball teams were unveiled on Monday. They will be distributed at Big Blue Madness presented by Papa John’s on Friday and beginning on Saturday morning at Kroger locations throughout the state.

There are four versions of this year’s men’s basketball poster. Each poster is double-sided, with faces of two members of the team on each side and UK’s season schedule between them over a black background. One poster features John Calipari and legendary head coach Adolph Rupp together opposite Dominique Hawkins and Derek Willis. Images of each of the four posters can be found attached.

The women’s basketball poster features 10 members of this year’s team – with seniors Makayla Epps and Evelyn Akhator front and center. Below Epps and Akhator and above the team’s schedule is the season’s theme: ONE. An image of the poster can be found attached.

Fans attending Big Blue Madness at 7 p.m. on Friday will be the first to receive the poster. Each fan will have one version of the men’s poster placed in his/her seat at Rupp Arena and one women’s poster.

2016-17-mbb-poster_rupp_calipariThe posters will then be available for free in more than 100 Kroger stores, including every Kentucky location. Limited quantities are available in each store, so fans are recommended to pick up their posters as early as possible after they become available on Saturday.

Big Blue Madness, set for Oct. 14, will feature introductions of both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, practice drills, videos and more. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m.

Free tickets for Big Blue Madness, which were distributed two weeks ago in person at Memorial Coliseum and online, sold out in just 28 minutes.

This will be the 12th time Madness has been held at Rupp Arena.
