Junior forward Blair Green of Harlan County gave a verbal commitment to Kentucky Friday during a home visit with coach Matthew Mitchell.
The 6-0 Green averaged 16 points and 5 rebounds per game as a freshman and 19 points and 8 rebounds per game as a sophomore. She is ranked as the third best wing player in the 2018 recruiting class by ESPN.
She already had offers from Louisville and Tennessee among others.
Her mother, Debbie Hoskins Green, is her high school coach and she was also the first player from Harland County to ever sign with Kentucky. She was a high school teammate of Kentucky sophomore Maci Morris’ mother.
Recruiting analysts like the way Green can shoot over guards and has the speed and skill to beat bigger forwards off the dribble. She’s also a solid rebounder and that figures to only get better as she gets stronger and more mature.
