Matt House has plenty of coaching experience. He spent four years on NFL coaching staffs. In the collegiate ranks, he coached three years at Pittsburgh, including two as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach. Twice Pitt went to bowl games.
Last season he was the defensive coordinator at Florida International. Now he is on Mark Stoops’ staff at Kentucky and will be coaching linebackers.
Kentucky linebacker Courtney Love was recruited by House when he was at Pitt. He knows what to expect from UK’s new coach.
“He will definitely be a hard-nosed coach and put us to work,” Love said. “He wants us in the film room taking notes every chance we get and doing all the little things that matter.
“Even if it is just fixing up our stance or using our hands right, he is going to make sure we are the best linebackers we can be. He’s the kind of coach that gets all you have out of you.”
