Love will be “resilient, tough, accountable” linebacker

By LARRY VAUGHT

Since he transferred from Nebraska, Kentucky fans have heard a lot about linebacker Courtney Love.

So what should fans expect when they finally get to see him play in a game Sept. 3 against Southern Mississippi?

“I definitely think fans should expect to see a very resilient, tough, accountable player. I thrive on discipline,” Love said. “That is what I was brought up on. My dad is an ex-Marine. Discipline is huge in my roots. That’s one thing I have really strived for and that is something you can expect to see from me.”

Love could only watch last season when UK went 5-7. He senses a new mindset on the team this season.

“We have a really young team. I am like the old guy, which is crazy. That comes with maturity and guys really seeing everything for what it is worth,” Love said. “Seeing guys leave here and go to the NFL helps guys grow up. Just going through experiences helps you grow up.

“I think everybody has seen that that. We had a good winter and then a great spring and now in the summer everybody is going hard because they want to win.”
