Looking for a way to get your July 4th weekend started a bit early. Well, I have a perfect suggestion for anyone in central Kentucky.
Most places will have fireworks on Monday, July 4th. But the Harrodsburg Health & Rehabilitation Center (853 Lexington Rd., 40330) will have its annual show Thursday night.
The fun begins at 7 p.m. with food booths, a dunking booth, raffle, music and more. All the residents of the facility come out to enjoy the fun and good times with those who attend. All proceeds go to finance the center’s annual trip.
My advice would be to come early and stop by Old Owl Tavern (859-734-0559) to eat before the fireworks. It’s billed as Harrodsburg’s favorite bar and grill and I’ve never had a bad meal or bad time there.
Check out the website here — http://beaumontinn.com/old-owl-tavern/. If you go, say hello to Dixon Dedman and tell him what you like. He’s a wealth of information about Beaumont Inn.
Or just go out to the Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center for a burger or hot dog and just enjoy helping those who truly cherish a chance to take a small getaway and watch what many tell me is the area’s best fireworks show.
“It is for a good cause. It’s free to public to come play games and listen to music. Only cost is for concessions,” said Christy Clark.
