One thing about Jacob Tamme, the Atlanta Falcons tight end has found a way to make off-season news.
The former Boyle County High School and University of Kentucky standout will join Tim Estes and myself on WPBK (102.9 FM) Thursday from 7:30-8 a.m. We will definitely talk about his charity golf scramble coming up in July (Swings for Soldiers) that raises money to build homes for wounded veterans.
However, we are going to get his take on winning a poll as the NFL’s Most Hated Player — and anyone who knows him realizes that cannot be true. Of course, once he did decide to teach Sunday School instead of joining me on a radio show, so maybe I can see how you would hate him — NOT.
Now cheatsheet.com has named him one of six players in the NFL with genius IQ’s.
Here’s what the site posted about Tamme: “The veteran tight end has not only had a productive NFL career, but he was also superb in the classroom during his collegiate years. Jacob Tamme was first-team Academic All-American when at Kentucky, graduating with a 3.82 GPA. He also earned a masters in business administration just before entering the NFL. Back in 2007, Tamme was one of 15 finalists for the Draddy Trophy, given to the top scholar athlete in the country.”
