Kentucky senior cheerleader Emily Sawyer could not hide her emotions during UK’s Senior Day Saturday when she cheered in Rupp Arena for the last time.

This week she’ll be at her final SEC Tournament before she hopefully ends her Kentucky cheer career, which already includes two national championships, with a third Final Four appearance with the basketball team.

After that the West Jessamine High School graduate will be part of the USA national coed cheerleading team. She’s one of only 13 girls in the country on the USA national team that has won eight gold medals since 2009.

She’ll report to Orlando April 10 to get ready for the April 22 competition.

I will be repping (representing) the Red White and Blue!” she said.

When she returns, she’ll join Tim Estes and myself on WPBK (102.9 FM) on April 28 from 7:30-8 a.m. to talk about that experience and her overall time at UK.

However, she could use some help with her trip and stay in Atlanta. She has a GoFundMe page at http://app.eteamsponsor.com/ETS/supportUs/13792301?fund_participant_id=13924386&program=13792289&fundraiser=13792301&participant=13922724&source=sms where you can make a donation to help with expenses.
